Help with the GBA Cheat system

Hi All,
I've been trying out the new Beta update and I'm having problems with getting the cheat system to work with Pokemon Emerald.
I've tried adding in my own cheats but when I turn them on nothing happens. I've tried the same cheat in the VBA emulator and it works no problems.
Any help would be really great
