Issues with some US and JAP games

Post by Antoine_France » September 18th, 2014, 5:15 pm

Hello,

this is a message I sent to Hyperkin by email and by facebook 2 weeks ago, and I never had an answer....

I hope you can help me.

Thanks

Antoine

Hi,

First of all excuse me for my english I’m from France…

I contact you because I have bought my RetroN5 recently from the US, and I have some problems.

I tested with 2 different TV, in game mode, and the tv’s are compatible both 50hz and 60hz.
I tested with different modes of frequency : automatic mode, 50hz forced mode and 60hz forced mode.

The Megadrive games are all running well (Europe and Japan).

All the SNES PAL games are running well.

Some JAP Snes games are running well too (Mickey Mania, DBZ 2), but I have some issues with Zelda US (NTSC) and Mario Kart JAP (NTSC).
But I don’t understand because the same games are running well with the PAL version !

So it is not a problem of tv, nor configuration of my RetroN5 because I tested every possible combination (50hz, 60hz, automatic, region, etc….)

There is a delay between the image and the sound, you can see it on those videos :

So I was obliged to buy those games again (PAL version)….

Do you know about those issues ?
Is it a problem from by machine ? (but others JAP games work well…..)
Am I the only one with those problems with those 2 games (NTSC version) ?
Do you know if there will be a future upgrade to fix those bugs ?

However I’m very satisfied with all the other games ! I really enjoy the RetroN5 !
I made a video on youtube for a famous french forum of retrogaming (gamopat).
This is my first review I hope you will find it good : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnX3XbRP08M

I really hope you can answer my questions….

Sincerely yours,

Antoine
