Road rash 1 ntsc unknown cartridge

The game worked on my last console but I have a revision and it won't read it properly. I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue on the latest firmware. My last console I believe was running the 2.2 beta but i kinda fried the motherboard with an incorrect power supply so I can't check. I know it wasn't the latest beta because i was trying to update when I screwed up the console. I can patch another cartridge(I use Road rash II) to play Road rash 1 and it works with save states and all except cheats of course. However I wanna use my actual cart with cheat support. The cart will work but i can't use save states and my position in the game is forgotten if i pull the cart out or reset the console. Oh and i have contacted Hyperkin as well as got a reply. They said they would fix it but i'm worried it's just my console and it can't be fixed.

same Problem here. I'm on the latest beta firmware 2.3. I dont know which hardware revision i have.
