Having problems with a game

Hey, I recently bought the USA version of final fantasy 6 advance for the GBA, and every time I try to play it, it comes up as an unknown game. I bought it from amazon so it's not a bootleg or anything, and I've cleaned it over and over again. What else can I do, short of returning it?
