Samurai Pizza Cats (Kyattou Ninden Teyandee)

Post by dashv » March 16th, 2015, 9:52 pm

I recently imported this excellent famicom game.

There is a translation patch for it, but it's in xdelta format.

I tried finding a patch program/tutorial but google sent me in circles.

Can anyone here help me get this in ips format? :)

I think this was actually one of the first games I spent quite a bit of time trying to learn what i was doing and how to make and fix patches. I uploaded the ending result IPS file some time ago:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/prsb7 ... a+Cats.ips

I'll be honest though...there's 2 versions of the patch if i'm not mistaken, one that's a more literal translation and one if the game were localized to the US. I can't remember which one I actually fixed at the time but I want to say it's the more localized version. This should work for you I think though.

Anyway for reference the quickest way to get the original xdelta patch into a usable format for the Retron 5 is to patch a good dump/rom of the game using the patcher the translator recommends in the readme (http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/704/) and then use a program like Lunar IPS to write a patch between the patched rom you just made and the clean untranslated rom. I can't remember if I had any more roadbumps on this one other than that basic process.
