Hello! So I have a repro copy of FF7 for the NES. Works great on the NES but doesn't work on the Retron 5. Is anyone able to create a conversion patch for this game? I think it may be fitting to either use the American Final Fantasy or Japanese FF3 (Famicom).

I know this thread is very old. But did you get the patch working on your Retron? I'm assuming it was converted to be used on an American copy of Super Mario Kart but I could be wrong. I love the beta releases. Normally I don't mess with beta firmwares and such but this product I'm totally okay with it. In the event you do have problems it is possible to downgrade. I've had to do that before.

I know people have complained about it before but I personally didn't notice anything. If it has then it hasn't affected my game at all.

Have you cleaned your cartridge? I recommend isopropyl alcohol (90% or greater is ideal) and some q-tips. I don't recall ever having a problem with that game. I own it myself and it's always worked. Does anyone know if a repro for Holy Diver will work on the Retron 5? I read from the compatibility list that the Famicom cart will but I'm thinking of getting a repro due to cost.

After I submitted this I had an idea but it failed. First I applied the MM3 Improvement patch using Lunar. Then I tried to apply the Roll-Chan 3 Improvement using Beat to THAT patched ROM and it just failed. Sorry.

What threw me off was that it has a dependency patch (also linked in that hack above) so I'm not sure the best way to go about it. Is any available to assist?

I read somewhere on the forum that with a firmware update the NES30 and FC30 controllers from 8bitdo would work on the Retron 5.
