Re: Well the input lag of the Retron 5 really blows

If your tv (most LGs) has a PC mode you can enable that'll pretty much disable all the post processing that can be disabled. I haven't looked at the link to your specific TV. Anyway I haven't noticed anything detrimental myself and frequently use the Wii U on the other input for VC and a PC on anot...

Re: Well the input lag of the Retron 5 really blows

In addition to Game Mode being on, make sure that ALL post-processing options for your TV are off. Game Mode doesn't necessarily turn these off on all TVs. Your TV might perform processing different for composite/component inputs than for HDMI. I know my TV has independent settings for each input, ...

Well the input lag of the Retron 5 really blows

I'll get the good stuff out of the way, the games look amazing with the Retron 5, everything looks perfect, especially when you add scanlines. Once updated, the options are great, love all the controller remapping options, it's everything you could hope for in an emulation machine. Now for the bad p...

Re: No new firmware for over a month, trouble in Hyperkind l

Well, here's the terrible truth. Even if they stay out of compliance with GPL or whichever license individual software is released under the only thing that can stop them from continuing to release updates or sell the system is a lawsuit. One thread I saw on the topic with an emulator which I can't...

If they decide to drop the product because of this. consumers will probably loose whatever trust they had left, so either way, they're in shit.

No new firmware for over a month, trouble in Hyperkind land?

Do you think these potential legal issues with emulators could be the downfall of the Retron 5 and that raising the price of the units is for some sort of lawyer fee piggy bank?

Re: Do BPS patch work with the Retron 5?

It's possible to make an IPS patch out of a BPS one in most cases though if the file size is small enough. Apply the BPS patch to the rom it's for on your PC with a BPS patcher and then make a IPS patch using the unpatched and now patched rom as the basis using a program like Lunar IPS. I can confi...

Re: Do BPS patch work with the Retron 5?

I don't think so, no. I'm pretty sure the Retron 5 only supports IPS and UPS. Xdelta and BPS formats are a no go. Do BPS patch work with the Retron 5?

I should be getting my Retron 5 tomorrow, so I started downloading translation files for my SFC games. A few translation files I downloaded are in BPS format. I've been out of the emulation loop for over 5 years now (since I started collecting retro games), so I've never heard of that format. I've t...
