Did you install the updated firmware on the controller after charging it? It is required to proceed. Make sure after you are following the correct start mode instructions then pairing as directed.

You would actually need to download an older version and install it on your system. We have a list of the update versions here: https://www.retro5.net/viewforum.php?f=6 Some of the links are no longer valid, but 2.1 has been recently relinked and the thread updated. I would start with 2.1 and see if...

The Retron5 uses Bluetooth, they just have this stupid authentication/pairing process that until now wasn't circumvented.

These are amazing looking and ability to pair is great!
