I just tried an original GB cart now (Operation C) and it worked great - I have system software v 0.31 and firmware 2.42... I know this sounds silly but, are you inserting the cartridges properly (label facing up)?

Thanks R9delta, your suggestion fixed my problem too... the word bubbles and screen image were all messed up... now, it looks perfect! My Sieken Densetsu 3 cart just arrived today and I was eager to try out my first ever Super Famicon cartridge (with a patch, as I can't read Kanji)... and thanks to ...

I too can recommend the Cirka S91 (though I got the one with the Famicon coloured buttons...)... it's almost as good as the originals but it's 100% new and will last a long time... very good controller!
